“For an artist to work with an architect is a moment of pure exchange. It is where the tensions and possibilities of modernity come together. For an artist to design an architectural award is a strange role and it is also a mo- ment to play. This award is precise and compact. It is designed to show a reflection of growth. A growth of ideas, a growth of new structures and a growth of new relationships. It is also designed to last, to be polished and to be thought of as a gift and a thank you from artist to architect”.
